Last years revenues from E 9-1-1 fees    $12,000,000.00  This is AFTER all the bills were paid folks.

Money spent to beef up quality of service that was promised to dispatch centers throughout the state when the additional fees went into effect   $0.00

Support from E 9-1-1    NONE!
  • Still running 10 digit telephones lines ( that ANY auto dialer and can come in on).
  • Still only have two lines to each dispatch center.
  • Still DO NOT get ALI and ANI information from transfered call from E 9-1-1. (was promised to us.... but we get crap)
  • Still putting calls on hold when volume increases beyond "normal".

Good luck when calling from a cell phone.... if you can't tell em exactly where you are.... chances of getting help in a reasonable time..... NONE!

What you really get for your $1.00 or $1.25 (cell phone) per month......  an easy number to remember.

I remember telling people when E-911 was first proposed that a central answering point was not necessary, that all 911 calls could automatically routed to each city or town through the tel co digital switch.
I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about.
It is strange that other states have gone this way without spending millions of dollars.
The 911 funds are going into the legislative money pit never to be seen again.
